Mac OS X 10.6.1 and Chameleon 2.0 RC3 are out

I know... this isn't really a news anymore, but a good starting point for the upcoming Chameleon + Snow Leopard guide. Chameleon 2.0 RC3 provides Snow Leopard support and some other new features. More info on the Chameleon Project Homepage.

I have Mac OS X 10.6.1 already up and running, using a Chameleon 2.0 RC3 USB-Stick.

  1. Looking forward to the guide.

Can you list the spec's of the machine you're planning on using?

  3. Awesome, thanks for the breakdown. Sorry I should have searched a bit deeper first, especially since I see your motherboard listed in the label column!

  5. Just found this blog while reading about your legal struggles with the dongle guys. Hope you'll settle them to your benefit!

Since you are obviously an expert with this kind of stuff... would you mind posting some insights/hints on howto run MacOS X with Chameleon in a VirtualBox virtual machine?

Even virtualizing MacOS X via Virtualbox on legitimate Apple hardware would be EXTREMELY interesting for developers that have to check their software on previous operating systems.

It would be wonderful if it were possible to launch virtualbox, boot 10.5 on a 10.6 machine :-)

This would be very interesting for every Apple developer in the world and it would probably bring a ton of support into the hackintosh community - even from "legitimate apple users" and thus eventually push some pressure on apple to officially allow virtualizing OSX (at least on apple hardware - baby step, but nevertheless a good start)
