Now I will guide you through the Chameleon installation process onto your USB-Stick.
- Insert the prepared USB-Stick
- Start the downloaded Chameleon-2.0-rc431.pkg (double click it)
Continue until Installation Type and click on "Change Install Location"...
Select the EFIBOOT USB-Stick...
Click "Continue"...
Click on "Customize"...
Deselect all but "Themes" and click "Install". The installer will ask you for the Administrator password. Provide it and follow until the end. That's all.
Hi AsereBLN,
AntwortenLöschenthis is mongole from the EFI-X support forum.
I am also not happy with my EFI-X device, which is not starting my computer anymore. I described the problem allready in the other forum, but will summ it up here again. maybe it's helpfull for some other readers...
I have got a working Mac OS X 10.5.4 installation on one hard disc partition which I can not boot into, because of a broken EFI-X device. I would like to know how it is possible to isntall the Chameleon bootloader to the USB Stick without an accessable Mac OS X ( as the installer of the Chameleon package is a Mac package, I assume).
I have got a bootable Win 7 RC and also an Ubuntu Live CD available as tools to work with.
Thanks in advance for your help!
greets, mongole
for some reason, when i open the .pkg to install Chameleon, it immediately prompts me with "Alert: Chameleon cannot be installed on this computer" I'm on a powerbook g4, is it because of the powerPC architecture?
